In 1998 the City of Pocatello leased us 47 acres of ground on Pocatello Creek Road. This lease has allowed us to build a facility where we can have classes, shoots, and leagues in one place. It is very exciting for the club to have both indoor and outdoor ranges in one location. We will still retain the outdoor range up Scout Mountain.
Our new indoor range is really wonderful. It is 150 X 44 and includes 3 bathrooms (handicapped), kitchen, office, and storage rooms. A deck was built on the north side of the building and will be wonderful when finished. There are 16 lanes with a possibility of shooting up to 40 yards inside. (Only recommended when no one else is in the building.) The lunch/class room is 44 X 20 and is perfect for either meetings, or classes. We had our banquet there this year and it was perfect.

BENEFITS OF ARCHERY

  • Bow Hunter Education Classes will be held at the new facility.  Idaho Fish &  Game also has the option of brining their classes to our range for part of their class work.  They have already been doing this.

  • Junior Olympic Archery Development for youth will be taught there.

  • It would provide a facility for high school archery classes. I.S.U. archery classes, parks and recreation classes, and Family Development classes thru the State of Idaho.

  • It will provide entertainment for families at weekend shoots and friendship among enthusiasts.

  • An asset for business people, and the members of the community.  There are many motels, restaurants, and malls within a short distance that will benefit from this facility.

BENEFITS FOR YOU

  • Archery benefits many business' in the community besides the archers.  Our facility will be a "TOP NOTCH", National Archery Association approved range.  This will enable us to host nationally recognized tournaments.  These tournaments have the ability to bring up to 1500 participants into town.  This would be a benefits to many local business'.

  • People who are active and involved, are happier people and more productive at work and at play.  Archery provides a great opportunity for young and old to get some exercise and make new friends.

Building this facility has required the help of others in our community.  Many of our local business have helped with donations, and discounts.  We could not have done it without them.  Like Lone Tree said, "...it is not enough for a man to depend simply upon himself".  This facility will be a benefit to our community, our communities children and our members.  Archery is a good, clean, inexpensive sport that can be enjoyed by many people.  Our Junior Olympic training class helps to keep young people occupied and our leagues and shoots involve many others of all ages.  This is a terrific sport to support, and we are very proud to be a part of it.
